FDA clearance for the Planmed XFI® full-body weight-bearing CT scanner

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a 510(k) clearance letter for the Planmed XFI® full-body CT scanner on September 26, 2025. Planmed XFI is the first cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) system in the world that can be used to image the entire human body in either an upright or supine position.

Vestfold Hospital in Norway evaluates CBCT for extremity imaging

The Norwegian hospital Sykehuset i Vestfold (SiV) began using the Planmed Verity® extremity CBCT scanner for research purposes over the course of the winter and spring 2025. Over 3 months, more than 180 patients have participated in this trial conducted at the radiology department of the hospital.
